Thus says the LORD to Cyrus His anointed, Whom I have taken by the right hand, To subdue nations before him And to loose the loins of kings; To open doors before him so that gates will not be shut.
When I read this scripture verse, I am reminded that God is the One and only One who opens doors. He also shuts them. When God has a door for us to walk through, nothing and no person will deter that action. When God's children are doing their best to follow Him, even if they make an error, He is faithful to still make it all work out well, always for His glory.
We continue to be amazed at the places God brings us, and at the opportunities He is setting before us. From all of the great shows, both past and upcoming, that He is blessing us with, to recording our first album early this summer, He is on the move! And so much more in between.
God has, indeed, taken us by the right hand. Through our music, and with the witness of our lives, both individually and collectively, we stand as an example of what a loving and faithful God does with, and through His children. Ultimately all is for His glory, and His purposes. But the amazing thing is, He fulfills us along the way when we obey Him. He births in us great desire to be used by Him, and to be found faithful in obedience to Him, and then He pours out over US blessings upon blessings. We are part of His anointed! And so are you.
During this most holy of weeks, leading up to the precious death and resurrection of our Lord, let us remember that. All of this is about the Savior. All of it. The writing we do, the singing, the music, the shows. There is absolutely nothing here if the Savior is absent. It is Christ and only Christ that we proclaim, glorify, and lovingly follow. He is the reason for Easter, and the reason for everything.
I encourage all of us to look for open doors. That may sound self-serving, but I assure you, it is quite the opposite. When a door opens for us, as His children we have the confidence and assurance that it is for His glory. We, too are beneficiaries of His blessing and His gifts, but that is secondary. His glory, honoring Him, and worshiping Him are the only reasons to do anything, including walking through open doors.
And when we keep that in mind, He will take and use our faithfulness and our attempts to honor him, and will bless us.
If you see an open door before you and have confirmed it is from Him, do not hesitate. Move quickly and with great confidence, resting in the knowledge that He is the One leading you through. His right hand is strong and sure and will never fail you. If you see a closed door, move quickly away as well. Obedience is as important here as with an open door, because He also closes doors to keep us safe.
Easter blessings to all of you. My favorite morning of the year is Easter morning. The open tomb leads to our open doors. And when we know that He is Lord, we say all throughout the year, "Hallelujah, He is risen, indeed."
We have several exciting things coming up; please visit our Events page to keep up to date. As time moves forward, we will be adding more, as more and more open doors are being set before us. God bless you all this Easter!
